DIXI....the New Orleans Sessions.

A refreshing sign that traditional jazz has new faces coming into the scene is the band DIXI from Norway.Gunnar Bech (trombone) Hayden Powell (trumpet) Brynjar Rasmussen (clarinet) Daniel Herskedal (tuba) Frank Iversen (banjo) Vidar Norheim (drums) and guests Coco York (vocals) and Fredrick Sanders (organ) appear on this CD called "The New Orleans Sessions". The band was formed in 1996 and the guys have been playing since their teens, inspired by the Molde Jazz Festival which takes place in their home town in Molde, Norway. The band has made tours to the UK, New Otleans, the Faroe Islands and across Scandinavia.
